The Scripture passages are identified with bold upright font and the author’s notes are identified with italic regular font.

Note – All words or phrases found in quotation marks are actual parts of the Hebrew definition(s).

24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. 27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? 28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? 29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

Watch Out Men

How is it possible to protect men from themselves? It is difficult but that is what God tries to do by offering men a warning in this Scripture.

Men are easy fooled by the flattery or admiration of women. Men often believe in the sincerity of women they should not, women who have an agenda to get what they want and will stroke the ego of a man to get what they want (v.25).

Men enjoy beauty, nothing wrong with that. However, when beauty is used to manipulate men and men refuse to allow themselves to see that a woman is using her beauty to manipulate them then at that point beauty is no longer beauty, not true beauty, it is physical attractiveness at best.

Men are warned by God against looking at women and pondering their beauty in their hearts, yet so many do (v.25). Men are also warned against responding to their sweet talk (v.24) or flirty looks (v.25), yet so many do. God makes it clear that a loose, deceitful, woman willing to use her body and charms to get what she wants will result in a man’s downfall in many ways, it will ruin his life (v.26).

Furthermore, adultery, if part of the equation, will burn up every good thing a man has in his life, and in God’s eyes he will not be “innocent,” which is to be “blameless, clean, guiltless, and unpunished” according to the Hebrew definition of “innocent,” even if the woman involved misleads him, tricks him, or manipulates him, for God has warned against such women.

If she is too sweet most the time, watch out you most likely will end up getting burned!

Spiritual/Political Disclaimer:

This blog will not be for the faint of heart or the easily offended. It will not be in any way politically correct. It will make every effort to share the truth in love, [Ephesians 4:11-16], to a decaying and dying society and church. I share what I share not to hurt, harm, or offend any person[s] or group; I do it because Christ’s Standard and Truth is not being represented by enough of His Followers, and I do it out of love. I love enough to tell His Truth.

Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV

11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
