This blog will alternate with each post between two subjects. One week will address why churches are not growing, and the coming move of God. The alternate week the blog will continue with the in-depth study through the Book of Proverbs.
The Scripture passages are identified with bold upright font and the author’s notes are identified with italic regular font.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Fruit Beyond Measure
Throughout the Proverbs the point is repeatedly made that wisdom and understanding are among the greatest, if not the greatest, character traits we can seek after in life. The merchandise of both wisdom and understand is more valuable than anything a person can obtain in life, “merchandise” being “profit from trade” according to the Hebrew definition of the word. Therefore, to trade in wisdom and godly understanding is to have a profitable life.
Wisdom and understanding will provide for you substance in life far beyond the value of silver, gold, rubies, or anything an individual can desire in life. Nothing else satisfies a person more than the substance of a life lived by the instruction of wisdom and godly understanding regarding how to live and conduct oneself.
The use of wisdom and godly understanding will lengthen the life of a person and bring honor to the life they live. They both bring peace to an individual’s life and a pleasantness that nothing else can provide. All of these things we have previously explored.
Wisdom and godly understanding produce a growth in a person that nothing can match. They bring a fruitfulness and happiness to life that is beyond measure. According to the Hebrew definition of the word “happiness” that happiness involves prosperity, being blessed, and living a life where relief is provided through the use of wisdom and godly understanding. So again, I repeat, wisdom and godly understanding bring a happiness to life that is beyond measure.

Spiritual/Political Disclaimer:
This blog will not be for the faint of heart or the easily offended. It will not be in any way politically correct. It will make every effort to share the truth in love, [Ephesians 4:11-16], to a decaying and dying society and church. I share what I share not to hurt, harm, or offend any person[s] or group; I do it because Christ’s Standard and Truth is not being represented by enough of His Followers, and I do it out of love. I love enough to tell His Truth.
Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV
11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
