“God goes where He’s wanted.” Philip Yancey

A group might ask, ‘Why is God not moving among us? Why is nothing happening, here at our _________?’ Most likely the reason is God is not wanted there. God may have been invited but He is not truly desired.

It is much like an office party you intend to have at your house one weekend. You really want to have the party, you really want the company of all your coworkers and you dream about all the fun everyone will have. What you do not want however is for the boss to come. Yet, if you have half a brain, you are not going to have a weekend get-together with the entire office and not invite your boss. That would be career suicide. Therefore, what do you do; you invite the boss even though secretly within your heart you do not really want the boss to be there. When and if he shows up you will make nice and kiss up to him as need; but your heart wishes something would have happened, which prevented him from making it to your well planned, well organized, much anticipated and greatly desired party.

Do you really want the boss there? Is God really invited into ____________?

“God goes where He’s wanted.” Philip Yancey

“We shall find ourselves out of adjustment to the ways of the world, and increasingly so as we make progress in the holy way. We shall acquire a new viewpoint; a new different psychology will be formed within us; a new power will begin to surprise us by its upsurgings and its outgoings.” A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God

Send the Fire

Send the Fire

Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
Thy blood-bought gift today we claim,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
Look down and see this waiting host,
Give us the promised Holy Ghost;
We want another Pentecost,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

God of Elijah, hear our cry:
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
To make us fit to live or die,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
To burn up every trace of sin,
To bring the light and glory in,
The revolution now begin,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

’Tis fire we want, for fire we plead,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
The fire will meet our every need,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
For strength to ever do the right,
For grace to conquer in the fight,
For pow’r to walk the world in white,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

To make our weak hearts strong and brave,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
To live a dying world to save,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
Oh, see us on Thy altar lay
Our lives, our all, this very day;
To crown the off’ring now we pray,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

A man who looked upon the moral and spiritual decay of the world and the church and realized that something radical needed to happen to bring people back to God. William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army was that man’s name. Have you notice the spiritual and moral decay of your world, of America?

Crisis Within the Body of Christ

We must realize that the Church, the actual Body of Christ, is in crisis. There is a great split among the outward manifestation of inward faith, in that we see a very postmodern church which is taking a form of ungodliness and a more devote church which is struggling to adhered to, live out, and hold up a godly standard in an ever increasing ungodly society and ungodliness from within the Body.

7 Perfect Verses for American Reform and Revival

The Reforms of Asa – 2 Chronicles 15:1-7 NKJV

1Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. 2And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 3For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; 4but when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. 5And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands. 6So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity. 7But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

“Reform” means according to Webster’s Dictionary:

transitive verb

1 a : to put or change into an improved form or condition b : to amend or improve by change of form or removal of faults or abuses

2 : to put an end to (an evil) by enforcing or introducing a better method or course of action

3 : to induce or cause to abandon evil ways

noun

1 : amendment of what is defective, vicious, corrupt, or depraved

2 : a removal or correction of an abuse, a wrong, or errors

Maturity of The Body

Maturity of The Body – Thursday, September 13th 2012

Just as an individual Christian needs to mature in their walk with Christ, the Body of Christ, the Church, also needs to mature spiritually as a whole. If an individual does not mature as a person, it will limit their ability to function properly in life. In just the same way, if the Body of Christ does not mature spiritually in a proper manner it will limit their ability to function effectively, with godliness, and a properly within their society. This immaturity will hinder the work of the Kingdom of God immensely.

The first sign of that maturity must be an affirmative to the following. Are we adhering to the written Word of God? The Word of God is absolutely true and the foundation from which all of our conduct should arise, as both individuals and a Body. We must not take the attitude that we can pick and choose what parts of God’s Word we believe to be true and what parts we believe to be subjective. To believe the Word of God to be absolutely true is not about being "traditional" it is about TRUTH. Forget traditional values and embrace truth as found in God’s Word. Traditions, even traditional values, are subject to environment and culture whereas God’s Word supersedes environment and culture.

Until we can come to a point where we have matured to the degree that we can receive each other in unity and love as members of the same Body, and open our hearts wide to each other [2 Corinthians 6:11-13] we will not see the fullness of what Christ wishes to do through us in the earth.

NKJV | ‎2 Co 6:11-18 O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. ‎12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. ‎13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open. ‎14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? ‎15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? ‎16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” ‎17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.”

YOU MUST BE DIFFERENT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Political Correctness-The Killer of the Church – Friday, August 31st 2012 – blog Entry

If you are a Bible believing Jesus Follower who loves the Savior, the Christ, the One and Only Jesus I beg you, lay parts of your theological bent aside for a moment and give a big shout out to the Republican National Convention’s Prayer aka Invocation from last evening, August 30th. That prayer was offered, ‘IN THE NAME OF JESUS’ something you see little of anymore, much less on a stage and in a venue that large.

Does everyone realize what that could mean for our country? How glorious to honor our Savior Jesus in such a way!

All too often and for much too long now, spiritual leaders and lay people have been asked to make sure, when they offer a prayer publically that they do not invoke the name of Jesus or offer the prayer in the name of Jesus. Well, friends without the name of Jesus, without Jesus, that prayer is powerless. Jesus was, Jesus is, and Jesus will always be where the seat of power and authority lay. Sadly, many, many spiritual leaders have agreed to these terms. I have heard it said, ‘It is better to be able to go and have some influence by offering the prayer than it is to make a statement by not going because you are not able to pray in Jesus’ name.’ Well, if offering the prayer is all you are to do while you are there then I would disagree. More than once I have believed this type of compromise was made, not for God, not for Jesus, but for the person who was invited to pray; quite simply they wanted to go, they wanted to be the one who was able to pray at this event, so they conceded to the compromise. May JESUS forgive them.

The use of the term “invocation” verses “prayer” has always bugged me as well. Instead of me sharing why I am going to share the definition of both words. Once you have reviewed the definitions of both words I believe my reasons for preferring the word “prayer” over the word “invocation” will be as apparent as why it is imperative to pray in the name of Jesus.

prayer:

1 a (1) : an address (as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought <said a prayer for the success of the voyage> (2) : a set order of words used in praying b : an earnest request or wish

2 : the act or practice of praying to God or a god <kneeling in prayer>

3 : a religious service consisting chiefly of prayers — often used in plural

4 : something prayed for

invocation:

1 a : the act or process of petitioning for help or support; specifically often capitalized : a prayer of entreaty (as at the beginning of a service of worship) b : a calling upon for authority or justification

2 : a formula for conjuring : INCANTATION

3 : an act of legal or moral implementation : ENFORCEMENT

Fellow lovers of Jesus, do you understand that, political correctness is killing the Church’s effectiveness and that the dead of the Church’s effectiveness means the destruction of this country?

Truth in Love – blog

Monday, August 27th 2012 – Entry – The Next American Revival.

The disciples were assembled in the upper room “in one accord” at Pentecost and the next move of God among the entire Body of Christ will be brought about as the Body of Christ seeks unity. Unity will bring a revival across America that will be unlike anything we have seen in our lifetime. For Christ centered denominations, congregations, families, and individuals to be a part of that revival; reconciliation, renewal, a resurgence of courage and boldness will have to take place…repentance will have to come.

In Webster’s Dictionary, the second definition for the word revival is as follows:

2: restoration of force, validity, or effect (as to a contract)

Is that not what each revival in church history has done?

1- Restored the force of spirituality over secularism.

2- Proved the validity of God and God’s authority.

3- Reestablished the effectiveness of the Body of Christ on the society in which it lived.

4- Renewed, spiritually, the covenant [contract] God has with His people.
